Product Details

Quantity - 1 Bulb of the size shown will be shipped.

Technical Description: Tuberose Cinderella, a captivating variety of Polianthes tuberosa, is celebrated for its exquisite Dark pink - Red hued blossoms. This perennial plant is part of the Asparagaceae family and is characterized by its long, slender leaves and tall flower spikes adorned with densely packed, fragrant flowers.

Origin: Native to Mexico, Polianthes tuberosa has been cultivated for centuries, both for its ornamental value and the sweet fragrance of its blooms. Over time, this species has spread globally, adapting to various climates while retaining its majestic beauty and aromatic charm.

Habit and Nature of Plant: Tuberose Cinderella exhibits an upright, clump-forming habit with slender, grass-like leaves that typically grow to about 12-18 inches in length. The plant produces tall flower spikes that can reach up to 1 feet, each crowned with a cluster of tubular, Dark pink - Red flowers. Known for their sweet and intense fragrance, these blooms are especially popular in the cut flower industry and are often used in perfumery.

Care Instructions:

  1. Planting: Plant tuberose bulbs in spring when the danger of frost has passed. Place them 2-4 inches deep and space them about 6-8 inches apart.
  2. Sunlight: They require full sun to partial shade. Ensure they receive at least 6-8 hours of sunlight daily for optimal flowering.
  3. Watering: Maintain even moisture in the soil during the growing season, being careful not to overwater. Reduced watering is needed when the plant goes dormant.
  4. Soil: Well-draining, fertile soil enriched with organic matter is ideal. Although they are tolerant of various soil types, overly compacted soils should be avoided.
  5. Fertilization: Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer during the growing season to encourage robust growth and prolific blooming.
  6. Maintenance: Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continuous blooming and cut back the foliage after it has died back naturally in the fall.
  7. Winter Care: In cooler climates, dig up the bulbs after the first frost and store them in a cool, dry place until replanting in spring.
