Echinomastus is a genus of small, rounded cacti native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. Their bodies are often covered in prominent ribs, tubercles and dense spines, giving them a rugged, sculptural appearance. Many species produce bright flowers in shades of yellow, orange or red during their blooming season. Adapted to dry desert conditions, Echinomastus cacti are valued for their distinctive shapes and seasonal colour.
