Pygmaeocereus (meaning "Pygmy Cereus") are fascinating miniature cacti that stay low to the ground, often forming small clumps of dark-bodied stems. Despite their tiny size, they are famous for putting on a spectacular show. These cacti are nocturnal bloomers, producing disproportionately long, elegant white flowers that open at night and release a rich, sweet fragrance resembling vanilla or musk.
